Support Republican Party Candidate Eric Hoefler for Nevada County Superintendent of Schools

A California native, Eric Hoefler is excited to be running for Superintendent of Schools for Nevada County.  Eric has been in and out of the area since 1976, permanently settling here in 1999.  Presently he is a teacher at Lindhurst High School in the Marysville Joint Union School District.  Eric teaches AP computer science, A+ computer certification, Virtual Business, Photography, and Radio / TV Broadcasting.  In addition to the academic side, Eric Hoefler is the Varsity Men’s Soccer coach and an Assistant coach in Track & Field.  He believes that there is as much to learn on the field as there is in the classroom.  Eric has children attending various schools with one graduating from Nevada Union, one in Nevada City Elementary, others schools that have had Eric’s kids attend include: Gold run, Union Hill, Scotten School, Lyman Gilmore, NCAL, Bear River, and Magnolia.  As you can probably guess, Eric has a vested interest in our schools.  As a teacher on the “front lines” he sees the budgeting issues and the lack of funds getting to the classroom.  His mission is to get the funds back in the classroom and hence his campaign slogan, “Students First.”

Prior to entering the teaching field, Eric was an international businessman that started as a logistics specialist for a printing company and eventually became an IT consultant specializing in budgeting, processes and logistics.  Eric speaks four languages; (English, French, German and Spanish) lived in France for six years and in the Philippines for a year and a half.  Currently his son from his first marriage lives in France with his mother and attends public school.  It is this global education exposure of personally attending an international school and having his child in a foreign education system as well as his knowledge of the education systems in the UK and Germany that give Eric Hoefler a unique perspective on education.    The above-mentioned education combined with his fiscal responsibility as a business owner make Eric Hoefler the right choice for facing the 21st Century in education for our community.

Eric Hoefler has a BA in international business from San Diego State University, and a teaching credential from National University that was obtained through the cohort here in Nevada City.  Presently Eric is attending Chapman University and pursuing his Masters in Education.
